Monthly Update - April 2019

In April, we hit a milestone of 170,000 refurbished computers! As always, a big thank you to everyone who donates technology to us. We want to reiterate why these donations matter; receiving refurbished technology can make large impacts on different communities and give them new opportunities to learn, grow, and improve.

This month we distributed 620 computers and laptops!

These computer and laptops went to…

• 13 schools like Vancouver Island North, Khalsa School Surrey, Mount Sleese Middle School, David Brankin Elementary, and Elign Park Secondary. Within these schools, the computers play a crucial role for the education of students. By having more computers in the classroom, it gives opportunities for students learn more effectively, keep up with the growing advances in computing, or even help specific student needs.
• 8 non-profits like Mosaic, Clements Centre Society, and ISS of BC who redistribute our refurbished computers and laptops to refugees and immigrants to provide them with the digital tools necessary in their settlement support.
• 67 computers were also sent to support the Skills BC Competition where students engaged in Olympic-style competitions hosted throughout BC. These competitions celebrate and reward students for their mastery of technology and help create an interactive and engaging environment to explore skilled trades and technology careers.
