And all individual donors!
This month, we distributed 282 computers and laptops to...
  • 15 schools: This includes public schools like Yorkson Creek Middle School in Langley, Elgin Park Secondary in Surrey, and Salt Spring Island Middle School in the Gulf Islands. These schools use computers and laptops for various things ranging from simply increasing their computer-to-student ratios so that every student has access to a computer during class to effectively learn, upgrading their current computers to keep up with the growing advances in computing, or even helping specific students.
  • 11 nonprofits: Nonprofits such as African Stages Association who empower people through storytelling and forum chamber as well as a Youth Computer Literacy and Homework club; Afro-Canadian Positive Network who provide support to refugees/immigrants and all Canadians of African origins infected and affected by HIV/AIDS; Canucks Autism Network who provide year-round sports and recreation programs for children, teens, young adults and families living with autism, while increasing autism awareness and providing training in communities across British Columbia; Creston Refugee Committee a secular volunteer group committed to bringing refugee families to Canada and to providing financial assistance and social support for the first year of their residence in Canada; and Vancouver International Children's Festival, whose mission is to inspire and motivate young minds with professional artistic experiences that transform a child’s understanding of the world around them and what is creatively possible.
  • 4 Students: These students now have access to a desktop computers in their homes and that will allow them to do their homework (and procrastinate 😉), communicate with friends and family, look for jobs, learn new skills, etc.
We hired one new technician and provided two high-school students with work experience!
We are excited to have them join our team. We also had to say good bye to 1 technician whose work terms have recently ended. We wish them the all best in their academics and budding career!
