Partnerships & Attestations

BC Technology for Learning Society works with a variety of organizations and government bodies.

Our Partnerships

We would not be able to do the great things that we do without the support of our wonderful partners!

ISED Logo

ISED

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada licenses and funds the Computers for Schools Plus Program across the nation. As CFS+ licensee, this allows us to refurbish donated computers and distribute them to schools, libraries, not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous communities in BC. We are extremely appreciative for the tremendous support we receive.

CFSC-OPEC

CFSC is a national non-profit organization established in 2005, supporting Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s CFS+ program and its intended impacts of digital inclusion and economic development. CFSC-OPEC’s hub of services to the CFS+ program include marketing and communications, partnership development, project management, and strategic planning.

TELUS

TELUS is one of the nation's largest telecommunications companies (and one of our top donors!), and we partnered in 2016 for their Internet for Good initiative. TELUS found that more than half of all Canadian families with incomes under $30,000 are without Internet connectivity, and the 3 barriers are price, hardware, and education. TELUS tackled the price issue by providing internet for $9.95 a month and we tackled the hardware issue by offering our refurbished computers at a discounted rate. This initiative continues to help B.C. families get connected!

MOSAIC

MOSAIC is a registered charity serving immigrant, newcomer, and refugee communities in BC for the past 40 years. MOSAIC is one of the largest settlement organizations in Canada. In 2015, we partnered with them to distribute computers to Syrian refugee families for the #WelcomeRefugees initiative and have continued to support their clients with refurbished tech since then.

Can your organization complement ours? We are always open to new ideas!

Please contact us if you think we can do great things together.

Our Attestations

Our certifications ensure that we are doing things right, whether it be data security, software deployment, or environmental responsibility.

Canada Revenue Agency

We have been a registered charity since 1995 and are able to issue tax receipts for your in-kind technology donations. Items are individually assessed based on the the model, age, and condition to determine their Fair Market Value.

EPRA

BC Tech is the only BC-based refurbisher currently certified by the Electronic Products Recycling Association "Electronics Reuse and Refurbishing Program". We earned this certification from a rigorous audit of our Safety and Environmental Controls, our Electronics and Information Security measures, and our Process Management. We are proud to qualify for this comprehensive high level of standards.

Microsoft Authorized

We follow the strict requirements established by Microsoft to ensure our clients receive high-quality, professionally refurbished devices installed with genuine Microsoft Windows.

RCBC

We are proud members of the Recycling Council of British Columbia. RCBC refers people to us when their technology is still good enough to be reused. RCBC is Canada's longest-serving recycling council, working to prevent and reduce the use of resources before they ever need to be recycled. Their hotline and app help people find the right places to recycle their things.
